Please use addition and subtraction flashcards to practice with your child as much as possible. It is very important for them to know their basic math facts! I appreciate your help with this important part of your child's math education!

What is Rocket Math?
Rocket Math is similar to a Mad Minute, but the kids get five or six minutes to complete their math facts instead of one minute. This allows the kids to feel less rushed, while still focusing on completing their math facts quickly. Every Monday as a warm up at the beginning of math class, each kid gets a paper filled with basic math facts. Once they have finished, they raise their hand and write down the time that they completed their math facts at the top of the page. They flip their paper over and work on the number of the day, which helps them understand and work on how many different ways they can get to one number.
What do I do with my child's Math Bag?
At the beginning of the year, Math Bags were sent home with your child. The Math Bags contain addition and subtraction flashcards. Occasionally, I will send home math games that should be placed in your child's Math Bag. Please keep this bag safe the entire year and help your child practice their basic math facts!
